Re: NSTI with Nagios xi Documentation Request
Hi Guys,
The documentation is very vague when it comes to xi considering I am running CentOS 5.8 with php 5.1.6, I have to upgrade this to 5.3 and not comfortable doing this without understanding what happens with sourcegurdian as I understand if something goes wrong it could really leave the xi installation useless.
Cheers
Arnab

Re: NSTI with Nagios xi Documentation Request
I would suggest testing on an xi Test box first and make sure it doesn't produce any unforeseen complication. I've got php 5.3.3 running on my xi dev box that is Cent 5.7, and it's been running well for quite some time. The only note that I can remember is that you have to manually specify your timezone in the /etc/php.ini file. My guess is that the development for NSTI was actually done on an xi box, but I can have the NSTI dev chime in here as well.

Re: NSTI with Nagios xi Documentation Request
Yes, the dev was done on an xi box, and I've tested the upgrade of PHP 5.1.6 to the newer 5.3 family on my box, and several users have done it as well. In the documentation that Aurelien sent it covers the SourceGuardian issues. The SourceGuardian files are dependent on PHP version, and the xi bundle includes the SourceGuardian files for PHP 5.1 and PHP 5.3, so it shouldn't be a problem.

This would be a great idea until you have someone who didn't want to upgradearnab.roy wrote:My question back to you guys then are why not make the php upgrade part of a future xi upgrade makes life simpler
