I am about to start the process of migrating all of my data from my original xi Install (on Cent OS 6.2) to a new server with Red Hat.
Reading through some other posts, I'm seeing where it is suggested to follow the 'Using the Config Import Prep Tool' document. This appears to only apply to a Core -> xi migration.
I'm wondering if I can just follow the 'Backing up and Restoring' document to run a backup of my old system on CentOS and then import it onto the new server with Red Hat.

Yes the back up and restore document applies to Nagios xi, simply run a backup and then restore the backed up files to the new installation, be sure to read the document though though as there are some other pointers within.

Yes, you can follow this document. What you need to do is:I'm wondering if I can just follow the 'Backing up and Restoring' document to run a backup of my old system on CentOS and then import it onto the new server with Red Hat.
1. Backup the old system
2. Install Nagios xi on the new server
3. Copy over the backup from the old system
4. Restore xi from the backup
Note: You need to pay a special attention on the "Things to Consider" section.
