Performance graphs

Post by tgfde »

Hi,

Does anyone know how to create / customize a performance graph for CPU usage for the last two hours on a particular date with 5 mins window?

Thank you in advanced.

Are you just wanting that specific timeperiod, or do you want to actually modify the graph template?

I just want that specific timeperiod.

I uploaded nagiosgraph as a plugin but not sure how to access it. I uploaded via the UI and it gave me a message indicating it was installed successfully. Is there anything else I have to do to in terms of install the plugin? Or is it ready to be used?

Thanks.

Before we get into template editing, have you looked at mguthrie's graph Explorer? The thing is awesome. You're a customer so you definitely have access to it:

If you have trouble installing it let me know.

Its a bit of work to edit pnp graphs but its pretty quick to get this graph explorer to zoom in on a particular 2 hour window.

Is there a documentation on graph Explorer that I can access?

After loggin on via the link you provided, and do a search of graph Explorer, it takes me to a 'subcription plan' page. Not sure what to do after loggin on.

Thanks.

The graph explorer is a great tool, but it's also for current customers with an active support/maintenance contract. If you have a current customer login for the Nagios library you can try that and see if your current contract allows the customer-only downloads.

The other solution is to simply use the built-in time window in Nagios XI, select the "Custom Period" boxes and then enter the timeframe that you want to view graphs in.

I have an active support/maintenance contract and have a login but unable to download the tool.

I could use the built-in time window, however I don't see a customization tab but only end date tab. Please see below.

Thanks.

Oh, whoops. It looks like the screenshot I sent is what time selections will be for our 1.8 release, I'm running the latest development snapshot. ; ) Sorry about that. We're hoping to have a 1.8rc (release candidate) available for download in the next week or so.

As far as the customer-only downloads, our sales team manages the library subscriptions. You could shoot them an email at sales@nagios.com and see what the status is for your current contract.

I finally got graph Explorer downloaded. However, it requires R1.3 and only have R1.2.

Any recommendations on which version of XI I should upgrade to?

I would to upgrade to a stable version.

Thanks.
