xi Prompting for user credentials on specific pages

Post by jsmurphy »

Hey guys,

One of our users noticed a small issue since our upgrade to 3.2 in production, the Hostgroup and Servicegroup pages in xi are prompting for basic authentication (only those six pages as well as far as I can tell after clicking through every link) even though they are already logged in. If you click cancel the page loads fine anyway, but for every page you try to access it will re-prompt.

If I authenticate to Nagios Core with the admin account then it will no longer prompt. I'm not quite sure how the relationship between the frontend and the backend works in terms of credentials. If a user goes to any of the legacy reports pages or a host in core via the xi interface they don't get prompted at all.

Ideas?

Thanks,
John

I ran into this yesterday but hadn't gotten a chance to look into it yet. I'm going to assign myself a tracker listing for it, it is a confirmed bug. For other users viewing this, this bug can be recreated by using the "Unified" hostgroup and servicegroup views.

Thanks Mike! At least it's easy to reproduce :)
