So we just got a brand new Fusion license and I just realized that there's a little bump in this implementation that I'm not sure how to address. The reason we got the Fusion server is because we're splitting our XI servers. We currently have one production XI server that holds ~950 hosts and ~16,500 services. When we split the servers, most of those checks will live on one server (our Unix checks specifically), and the rest (windows, network, security, etc.) will live on the other.
The problem is that we have many Nagvis diagrams showing our network topology for various applications. These drawings contain hosts and services from Unix, Windows, Security, and Network. I don't see a way to integrate nagvis with fusion, and if our XI servers are going to be split up is there a way to keep our drawings the way they are now?

At the moment, it is not possible to integrate NagVis into Nagios Fusion. It may be possible in the future, but for the time being, you will be able only to drill down, and access NagVis on each of the fused Nagios XI servers in Fusion.

Re: New to Fusion - NagVis question
So, if we put all our Unix hosts on one XI Server, and all of our Windows and Network hosts on another XI Server, is there anyway to make something like this work? Below is an example drawing of what I'm talking about. It's very crude and basic but that's because I spent about 4 seconds on it just so you'd get an Idea of what we're using NagVis for. We have drawings showing the flow of data from our network to our users. Some of these applications hit both windows and unix hosts, and obviously all of them hit network hosts. We have monitors on all of these devices so that if we lose X host we know we won't have access to other devices further down the line. Management likes their pretty drawings, so I'm just wondering if this will be something that's even possible after we split our XI servers.

Re: New to Fusion - NagVis question
Hi snapon_admin,
We currently don't have NagVis in Nagios Fusion and Fusion doesn't actually have the data from the XI servers to be able to make that graph. Since the two XI servers are split you won't be able to make the same graph as you had before when all the checks were on a single server.
This could be a feature request if this is something you think should be added into Fusion when it gets an overhaul.

Yeah, that would definitely be a feature we would like to see in Fusion. I'm sure it would be awhile until that could be implemented so we're going to try and investigate ways of being able to keep our drawings the way they are and still be able to split the server into 2, but I would still say that this would be something we'd like to see in Fusion if it's possible.

Alright! We will add it to our internal feature requests and we will see what we can do. I know we are going to be looking into NagVis soon so maybe there will be a chance when that happens to see if it's possible to get into Fusion.
