NagiosXI External Commands.

Post by jladd »

I was trying out the latest NagiosXI and Installed Nagvis. It took me awhile to remember all of the database information to get nagvis communicating with XI. But now when I loginto Nagvis I see an error that says. NDO Claims that nagios did no status update for more than "180" seconds.Make sure that nagios and NDO daemons are running. I thought this was un-usual so i logged into XI and on the monitoring engine status page it says. External commands Disabled. And I have no option to turn them back on.

I looked around and Doubled checked that selinux is off. I did a ./nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

Sorry I figured this one out. I had the incorrect database information in the /usr/local/nagios/etc/ndo2db.cfg The DB user was set to nagios and the pass was set to n@gweb. Changed to user root password nagiosxi.

hmmm. That seemed to fix that issue. But now im not getting performance data and performance graphs are not being drawn. On some it seems like the graph is there But it says Performance data unavailable. When I click on the graph i get this message "There are no datasources to display for this service".
