Zero fill graphs not functioning properly

Post by fabian.vanderhoeven »

The zero fill option is not functioning properly. It is not rendering a line at 0 when their are no events.
I've attached an example graph where zero-fill is enabled, but not rendered.

Zero fill is working as intended on my end. Can you zoom your graph out a bit and see if that helps?

This is allready zoomed out to a month.

When nothing matches the query for a prolonged time, it doesn't seem to fill the zero's. When it matches something after a couple of weeks for example, then it seems to fill in the zero's from the previous weeks.

I hope you understand because english is not my main language.

I do understand. I am not seeing similar symptoms - can you please show me how your histogram is configured?

Here is my panel and style configuration. I've also included a couple of graphs. They're all configured the same.
It looks like the top graph is doing the zero fill, but if you look closely, you.ll see that the last couple of hours, there has been no result for the query, thus it is not filling up the zero's.

What version of NLS are you running? If you zoom in/out on your graphs, does the zero-fill change in any noticeable way? I noted that if I zoom in or out too far the zero fill will disappear - it appears to be a Kibana bug which could be fixed by an eventual update of the Kibana version in Nagios Log Server.

If i zoom in a lot, i still don't see the zero fill.

I have no idea how to find a NLS version.

It should be in the bottom-left hand corner of any screen in the Web GUI.

Does the result change if you use a different browser, or is it the same across all of them?

I now get that you mean the version of Nagios Log Server :) . I use version 2015R1.4

It is the same across Chrome, Firefox and IE11.

You should have backups located in /store/backups/nagioslogserver. Would you mind PMing me one of those .tar.gz files? I'd like to try and reproduce this issue on my side.
