Re: Nagios xi on debian lenny
At this time Debian is not a supported platform for the Nagios xi system. The installation and related scripts rely heavily on rpm package management, CentOS package naming, and other RHEL-style system utilities that are not necessarily portable.

This is not under support, but if you figure out the package dependencies we won't stop you. If you succeed we would vary much like you to post notes on your experience. Currently it's nearly impossible for us to maintain a stable product distribution for RedHat and CentOS, because these comprise of...Different environments that every day one of these gives us a days worth of trouble. We have one developer working full time on just RPM depends and conflicts. We also support Fedora, but I've not seen nearly as many problems with this as I have the other two.
Currently we are fighting to get rhel 5.5 working, but it's sooo different from 5.4. It's like a whole new distribution from our point of view.
If I could drop anything it would be rhel... not ever going to happen. The next piece I'd like to drop is amd64, though this is not a priority.
Code: Select all
i386 amd64
rhel...
5.3 1 2
5.4 3 4
5.5 5 6
cent...
5.3 7 8
5.4 9 10
5.5 11 "12"
