Hi,
I have some questions.
I would like to move a NagiosXI in version 5.5.9 to Centos5 and bring everything inside a RHEL8 by updating the Nagios to version 5.8.1.
What do you advise me to do?
I am also willing to lose the graph history, even if it is not beautiful, but I find myself in difficulty with that NagiosXI version.
I find myself with two version: postgres and mysql. One thing that has already been successfully addressed and resolved, but the leap was not that big.
In RHEL8 the version of MYSQL also changes, it has strong configurations at the security level etc.
Does NagiosXI fully support RHEL8?
Regards,
-Fede

Yes in current versions, but this is going to be a bit challenging to make this big of a jump in OS version and XI version terms.Support_Talea wrote:Does NagiosXI fully support RHEL8?
The problem is XI 5.5.9 didn't support RHEL 8 as RHEL 8 didn't exist yet.
You likely will need to setup a RHEL 7 machine, and install XI 5.5.9, restore your backup to it, and perform an upgrade to the latest. Then a move to RHEL 8 would be easily possible.
You would want to use the following as a guide

Previous version to find 5.5.9 for new install before restoring

Hi Scott,
Yes, we were thinking of an intermediate step.
It will be a bit difficult due to two databases, mysql and postgres, we will succeed.
