Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
directives and data defintions. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read
the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.

In these situations, I find that re-running the ./upgrade script that comes with the nagiosxi tarball, make re-decompress the tarball. When you did the upgrade did you run the upgrade script? And are you sure you downloaded the 1.5 tar, not the 1.4 tar?

With the issue in the 1.4 release, the root of the problem was actually in the windows wizards, which were also updated when 1.5 was released to correct the issue. Make sure you've got the following two wizards updated, and then run the upgrade script again.
