Alert Settings tab
In order to receive notifications, you need to add a contact to your service. From the image you posted, it seems that you haven't added a contact, yet. If a contact is added, it should be highlighted in blue (like the "nagiosadmin"). To add a contact, click on the modify button (red arrow) - see bellow:
Check Settings tab
Select "nothing" (first option from the drop-down menu) for the "Event handler" and "Event handler enabled" = "skip".
Common Settings tab
Select "nothing" (first option from the drop-down menu) for the "Check command". This command is defined in the template that you are using - "xiwizard_genericnetdevice_host".
Setting a contact under Contact Management
You must define host and service commands. See bellow:
Save and Apply Configuration.

Continue of the previous posting..
2. I have make other modification such as event handler.. and empty setting.
I think we need to focus on the NOT HIGHLIGHT contact part.

Re: Installating xi Linux Agent fail
FYI,
I have created a new contact user and add to the Host Management. However, it still doesn't show the blue hightlight
I tried this from a command line and I have received the email fine.
sendmail -v ynguyen@galco.com </etc/hosts
So, it seems mail is working fine from the server point of view.
1. Can we test the email from the GUI
2. There are two email options to configure (smtp and sendmail). I have tried both and I am still having problem

I tried firefox and it looks lik the blue highlight are shown up. See the attachment.
WIth that saying, I thinking we need to check the sendmail or smtp configuration via the GUI.
What is your direction on this email topic.

Re: Installating xi Linux Agent fail
Can you join a gotomeeting session so we can get this going?
I am short on time, cann't really play too much on this. Need to able to monitor and alert
servers asap. It took too long to figure out a software while our server are not monitoring.
I am on a hot seat at the moment to stay and trying with Nagios. Please help to get the basic working
Thank you.

Re: Installating xi Linux Agent fail
If you have a support contract we can setup a meeting, send your request to xisupport@nagios.com.
Otherwise you can test the the email delivery at Admin-> Manage Email Settings
Also, be sure each of these users has notifications enabled and test email delivery for them
Admin-> Manage Users -> Masquerade As -> Configure -> My Account Settings -> Notification Preferences
and
Notification Methods

Re: Installating xi Linux Agent fail
I do not have a support contact yet. This is a evaluation. Your sale folks said you guys should able to get me going so I
ensure it actually working before we purchase the contract.
Here are the test results from the email configuration and set up and testing from the GUI.
If you see my previous posts I have created, enable and attached the contact to the monitor and alert host.
I am still having problem making Nagios to send out an alert when it detect the machine is unreacheable through a simple ping.
