NAGIOS xi installation

Post by aplatten »

Dear all,
I'm strugeling during the installation of Nagios xi on a fully registred RHEL 6.2.

when the fullinstall script comes to the point of checking dependencies it brings following error messages:

[root@chsismon1 nagiosxi]# ./fullinstall
========================
Nagios xi Full Installer
========================

This script will do a complete install of Nagios xi by executing all necessary sub-scripts.

IMPORTANT: This script should only be used on a 'clean' install of CentOS or RedHat. Do NOT use this on a system that has
been tasked with other purposes or has an existing install of Nagios Core. To create such a clean install you should have
selected ONLY the 'Base' package in the OS installer.

Can you attach the install.log file in your /tmp/nagiosxi directory. You're showing us information from at least a second install attempt.

Have you made any modifications to the install scripts?

Hi there,
You're right, I've tried several times to install, this time i started from scratch and installed with yum all required packages by hand, exept the package nagiosxi-deps-2011r2.2-1.noarch.rpm came up with the error message mentioned before.

find attached the requested log

Thanks Andy

Just to verify, have you enabled the Optional channel for this machine through the RedHat GUI?

Yes Optional Channel is enabled trough the Red Hat webaccess.
Additional info, the Server is behind of a Firewall but as far as i know and could test the proxy is configured correctly, since yum and software update of Red Hat works.

I'm setting up a new RHEL 6.2 box to test this one. Sometimes the latest updates introduce new packages conflicts in the repos, so we'll see if we can recreate this.

Hey, did you by chance upgrade PHP on this system before running the installer? I'm seeing this on another user's system where they manually upgraded from PHP 5.1x to PHP 5.2x and they were seeing similar errors related to these packages.

I ran a test install with RHEL 6.2 with a recent yum update, no problems on it.
