It's possible that the square brackets might be an illegal character in NagiosQL (the CCM), not sure if that's the issue here or not.

I finally got around to updating the Host Creation Tool, it now allows you to provide a description field and it also detects most installed wizards that come supplied with Nagios XI 2011R3.2.

Available for download from the Nagios Exchange.
