Nagios xi Test - Adding hosts and services

Post by JasonMagee »

Hello Support,
I have been testing Nagiosxi and have been having a couple issues.
1. Results of check command return undesired results. Includes "&apos". Please see nagiosxiHosts.jpg.
2. Hosts have been added however services for hosts are not showing on the Service Detail page. Please see nagiosxiService.jpg.

I am using the trial version of the Nagiosxi VM which runs on CENTOS.

1.) This is a know but and is fixed in SVN for the next release
2.) I'd need a bit more information... like if any other filtering is going on, could you post a larger screenshot, so I can see the host and service summaries on the top and/or the URL?

Excellent.

Can you also show me the configured services, because this doesn't seem to show any.
Config -> Core Config Manager -> Services

Thanks

this is strange..

From the xi Web Interface, can I have you do the following:
Admin -> Monitoring Config -> Core Config Manager -> Tools -> Write Config Files

Click each go button one by one and report the results of each.

Can run through a Website config wizard using www.nagios.com as the host.
Just leave all the defaults and click next, next, next, apply
Once the configuration applies, try to look at the service details page.

If you still have nothing, from the command line can you run

Code: Select all

tail -f /var/log/httpd/error_log
to see if we have any errors.

Scott, Have you been able to find anything from the error_log?
