Performance graphs are not working despite "Fixes"

Post by shahner »

I have read the previous posts on this topic and the FAQ but have failed to find a permenant solution for my issue. I am using the NagiosXi Virtual Machine to demo the product and when I log in, and view performance graphs, all i see is the red X (missing image) where the graph should be. If I go in and "Reset Security Credentials" the graphs will display properly until I close my seession (log out). On next login, the problem returns. I have tried resetting the nagiosadmin account password and matching it in the reset security credentials section but this did not resolve the issue.

Bear with me if you've tried this already, but did you also reset the Subsystem Credentials as well as the Component Credentials? Try entering the same password for the subsystem credentials as the admin password.

If that isn't fixing it, what version of XI are you running?

I may have tried that. Where can I set the "sub system credentials". If you can provide me a step by step, i will definitly give it a try. I didn't see anything in XI that mentions subsystem.
Not sure what version of XI, but I got the latestest only about 5 days ago. Where do i find the version info?

Oh, i found the version info. its: Nagios XI 2009R1.2C

Ok, so resetting the subsystem passwords seemed to have worked. I guess I had ignored those settings since the interface told me too :)

I had reset the password for the nagios user in command line on the VM, is this considered the "nagios core backend account" in the Sub-System Credentials section?
What about the config manager backend password? Is this the nagiosadmin account that is under config manager or some other?

CCM backend user is "nagiosxi"

The interface is outdated, the *whole authentication system was re-done for 1.2 and the credentials page is only relevant for 1.1 and previous.

* Rather "most of".
