Authentication failure for pnp

Post by TSCAdmin »

I've installed the xi-latest on a fresh centos5u4 x86_64 build to use as my production machine, and I'm getting an error that I haven't seen before.

All of the "performance graphs" show up as a broken icon. When I look in /var/log/httpd/error_log, I see the following messages

Code: Select all

[Thu May 27 13:59:01 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] user nagiosadmin: authentication failure for "/nagios/pnp/index.php": Password Mismatch
[Thu May 27 13:59:31 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] user nagiosadmin: authentication failure for "/nagios/pnp/index.php": Password Mismatch
[Thu May 27 14:00:01 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] user nagiosadmin: authentication failure for "/nagios/pnp/index.php": Password Mismatch

To clarify further, if I go to http://servername/nagios/pnp/ I can see the graphs just fine, so the graphs are capable of rendering.

Additionally, I created a user named bob, gave it admin rights, and went to the performance graphs tab on some of the services, I still get the exact same errors:

Code: Select all

[Thu May 27 14:43:18 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] user nagiosadmin: authentication failure for "/nagios/pnp/index.php": Password Mismatch
[Thu May 27 14:43:44 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] user nagiosadmin: authentication failure for "/nagios/pnp/index.php": Password Mismatch
[Thu May 27 14:43:44 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] user nagiosadmin: authentication failure for "/nagios/pnp/index.php": Password Mismatch
What's odd about this is that I'm not even logged in as "nagiosadmin"

You don't brows from the server either... I'm guessing. Reset your security credentials as described else where on the forums.

Correct, I didn't browse from the server. I tried to reset the security credentials without success.

Where is pnp getting its authentication information from?

Back-end password on the security credential's page.

Performance graphs are not showing data for specific machine

Post by efic1 »

Hi,
I’m using the check_snmp_netint.pl script to monitor the performance of our Cisco ACE 4710 devices. It’s working on all of our devices and I can see in the Status Information that the script is running and returning the expected results (gigabitEthernet1/3:UP (in=24.1Mbps/out=0.0Mbps), gigabitEthernet1/1:UP (in=31.0Mbps/out=24.1Mbps), gigabitEthernet1/4:UP (in=0.0Mbps/out=31.0Mbps), gigabitEthernet1/2:UP (in=0.0Mbps/out=4.9Mbps):(4 UP): OK).

My problem is in the performance graph, it’s only working on one machine and for the rest I can only see one data point which is from the date I’ve enabled the service. All of the machines are using the same service and host template.

Here is an example of the script output:
gigabitEthernet1/3:UP (in=0.0Mbps/out=94.0Mbps), gigabitEthernet1/1:UP (in=94.0Mbps/out=69.2Mbps), gigabitEthernet1/4:UP (in=69.4Mbps/out=0.0Mbps), gigabitEthernet1/2:UP (in=0.0Mbps/out=15.9Mbps):(4 UP): OK | 'gigabitEthernet1/3_in_bps'=323;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/3_out_bps'=93977894;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/1_in_bps'=93981381;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/1_out_bps'=69238196;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/4_in_bps'=69368661;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/4_out_bps'=2;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/2_in_bps'=2604;500000000;900000000; 'gigabitEthernet1/2_out_bps'=15939233;500000000;900000000;

Thanks,

Yes,

Deleting the .rrd and .xml files for the service In the folder /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/hostname/ did the trick.

Thanks,

Performance graphs JPG not displaying

Post by mcleodc »

Hi,

I have downloaded the Nagios XI 2009R1.2 VM image from the library. The performance graphs are not displaying - not even the pre configured local host.

I have attached a screen shot.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks
Chris
