Re: What is the best way to rollback to the previous xi vers
Hi Sandeep,
I would recommend upgrading to the latest version, 5.8.2. Recommendations:
1. If you're using a virtual machine, take a snapshot that you can roll back to.
2. Setup a test server with the current version/operating system and restore the production server to the backup. Then test the upgrade from 5.6.14 to 5.8.2 for any issues.
3. Take a full backup before running the upgrade script.
Backing Up And Restoring Nagios xi
We fully QA test upgrades on all the support distributions and since you are upgrading from a recent version, this should be a smooth process. Have you made any significant customizations to the server (i.e file paths, hardening, database changes, upgrades of PHP/apache....etc.)? That is what will usually cause errors in the upgrade script.
