Hello Everyone,
So I have 3 host groups within my Nagios setup.
1 is called Windows servers
1 is called Linux servers
1 is called SNMP monitoring
Currently my admin account gets notified if anything is wrong within any of these host groups. However I need to have a separate email sent out to my admin user and restricted user email address I created if something is wrong with the Linux servers host group.
I added the new user to Nagios with a new email address, but I don't see a way to have that address only send emails if the Linux host group has issues.
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you!

You will have to add these users as monitoring contacts to all members of the Linux servers host group. You can do this through the Core Config Manager or through the Hope page: Details->Host Detail-><your_host>->Configure->Re-configure this host->Notifications. Select your contacts under "Send alert notifications to..." section and click on the "Update" button.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.

That was helpful so thank you, but it looks like now the hosts will notify the new group if there is an issue with the host, but will not notify if there is an issue with a service within a host?
I say that because I reconfigured all hosts to also notify the new email group, but then when I looked at a service within a host, it didn't have the configuration to alert the new group I setup.
Does this sound correct? Do I also have to add the new user to be alerted if a service within a host has an issue, even though the host has the new user added?
Thanks again!

Unfortunately, you will have to add this contact to services as well. Normally, you don't have to do this manually for each service... When you run the wizard and you add a contact, the wizard will add it to the host and the services associated with it. In your case, we are trying to add a contact after the fact. So you can add your contact to services via the Core Config Manager, or you can try re-running the wizard. If you re-run the wizard, you will have to use exactly the same host name, then add the contact, I believe, in Step 5 of the wizard. After this, your contact *should* be added to all services. You will have to decide on which method to use.
