Upgrading Nagios xi on RHEL7

Post by itunixops »

We are planning to do some upgrades to nagios xi to the latest version. This is on a RHEL 7.4 box with a modifed php. Specifically we have due to security concrens installed php 7.2 on it.

Our first attempts crashed the upgrade and we had to restore from snapshot. Has anyone attempted to upgrade nagios xi on RHEL 7 with php 7.2? If so how was this done?

Were also evaluating upgrading the whole environment to RHEL8 which incorporates PHP 7.X as well but we want to evaluate our current situation first.

You may upgrade the version of PHP, but please bear in mind that this is not the supported version for Nagios xi. Please follow the link below for specific instructions on how to upgrade the PHP of your Nagios xi instance.
Upgrading to PHP 7

I encourage you to upgrade to Red Hat 8 as that version of PHP is standard for that operating system. You will probably encounter less issues that way.
