I should say, that when I login with that username and password, I'm a guest, and no matter what I do; I remain a guest. No admin rights.

Am I assuming correctly that the login prompt that you're getting is a "basic auth" prompt from Apache? (looks like a javascript alert box).

Hmmm.. okay. I am going to setup a clean test system and go through the steps to make sure we haven't missed anything on our side. I will post results and steps taken tomorrow.

This is what I have running the updated script that Tony provided:
NagVis.jpg
I had logged in via

Code: Select all

 http://IP/nagvis/
using the Nagios xi credentials (by default being "nagiosadmin" and"nagiosxi" respectively)

There were some issues with older versions so I would strongly suggest the latest 1.5.9 release of NagVis.

From the user menu you can Manage Users and Modify Users to edit the master account of needed as well. Hopefully this will set us on the right track and tell us if this works for you.

Thanks!

okay, I'm back to getting prompted for the username and password Windows Security box. I'm logging in with 'nagiosadmin', but it won't accept the password. I can login to Nagiosxi with the same username and password I'm using in the Windows Security box, but the Nagvis authentication is not working for me.

Hmm, do you happen to know what version you installed of NagVis? This would be the latest:
