Monitoring LOG server from xi

Post by dlukinski »

Hello LOG support

What is best way of monitoring LOG server from xi?
- SNMP/NRPE/NSCA ?

- we would like to monitor CPU/RAM/DISK as well as log elastic search DB and Logstash collector (stops frequently lately)

Thank you

Same way you would monitor any other remote Linux host. We use NRPE and also have an nrpe.cfg entry (and sudo entry) to allow Nagios to probe for elasticsearch and logstash processes as well as restart them.
