Hi
I had a thread about this topic but it was closed... so i feel I have to reopen a similar one.
My issue - which should be very very simple, but i am still nowhere - is: I want to retain data - for instance the data seen in "Host State History" for more than x days.
The only way I to set "x" is in Performance Settings/Databases. As I have not found any description of what items in this page that maps to what, I have tried to adjust ALL of them so that they exceed my current requirement, x=5 days.
But alas, every morning i reopen Nagios and find that another day of data has been truncated... example: all of my PerformanceSettings/Databases entries exceed 5 days, but this is what Host State History showed me this morning:
State History
Report covers from: 2021-12-19 00:00:00 to 2021-12-20 08:33:25
(...)
... in effect all data prior to 2021-12-19 (=yesterday) seem to have been erased.
I have asked about this before and I have received responses... but none that concretely addressed or alleviated this question. I apologize if you did and i just missed it or simply did not understand it.
This is the last item of my Nagios qualification test, and it seems such a silly little thing to be blocking the whole thing.
regards
Håkon

Hello Håkon,
Thanks for reaching out on this so we can help iron out the issue with host and service history.
Understand that you are not able to retrieve history from further out than one day. Want to find out what the history report looks like when you select further out.
Please send over the System Profile so we can see what is going on.
