Today the performance graphs stopped updating for all the services, after I edited a host (changed it's IP address), the notifications are still operating fine.
Since that change the performance graphs stopped updating and I also notice that the IP address change I made did not take affect.
I have applied the configuration via the GI, stopped/restarted nagios & nagiosxi services, I also performed a "shutdown -r now" command.
But the graphs are still not updating.
How can I troubleshoot what caused this to happen?
I am using: Nagios XI 2009R1.3G
Thanks
Sal

Re: graphs stopped updating
Looking into this issue further I see that all the rrd files in the directory "/usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata" show the last update as the same time the graphs stopped updating.
Which service updates the rrd files ? how can I trouble shoot why its not running?

Re: graphs stopped updating
I think I have solved the issue. I have nagiosXI running ina VMware enviroment and I believe the system ran out of rexources.
The /usr/local/nagios/var/spool/perfdata directory was filled up with files and they were being processed very slowly, one file every minute.
I shutdown the Nagios instance and configured VMware to allocate 2 CPU's then restarted Nagios.
The system powered up and processed all the perfdata files and all the graphs were up to date.
So if anyone else has the same issue make sure the VMware guest has enough resources allocated to it.
Thanks
Sal

Hello Sal,
I apologize for the late reply as we were at of the office until today for the holidays. Thank you for the tip as we have run across the "lack of resources" issue occasionally but it can often be difficult to troubleshoot.
Thank you.
