Considerations when changing NLS IP

Post by Envera IT »

I'm thinking of moving our NLS cluster behind a loadbalancer which is going to necessitate an IP change on all the cluster hosts. Is there a process doc on how to re-IP a NLS cluster or can you give me a breakdown of what specifically will need to change with the NLS config?

There isn't much to it. https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=549 has the steps and a NLS specific settings section:
After changing the IP address on your server you should check that the Interface URL is correct.

Administration > General > Global Settings

Make sure the Interface URL is correct.

If a DNS entry is used make sure that this resolves to your new IP address.

In addition to this, on ALL nodes you need to check the following file has the correct IP addresses:

/usr/local/nagioslogserver/var/cluster_hosts
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
