Well the question is, if it works on port 80 should it not work on other ports as well.
It works absolutely fine on port 80 but the images don load up when we change the port from 80 to 8000.
any idea on this.

I know the graphs are being pulled from an internal proxy, and it's possible that port 80 is hardcoded into some aspects of XI. You might want to do a search on the forums for other users who have used proxy setups and see if anything comes up.

Would you care to run a test on a new patch that should let you see the graphs on a port other than port 80?
Backup and replace the following file with the one in the zip.
/usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components/pnp/pnpproxy.inc.php
