Good afternoon,
After Installing Nagios xi 2011R1.7, I am unable to select the "Network Switch / Router" Monitoring Wizard in FireFox 7.0.1 (the latest version). Chrome and IE appear to work as expected.
I can do a right-click on the wizard, Open Frame --> Open New Window, and them I am able to select the Monitoring Wizard Option, Network Switch / Router, in the new window.
Thanks,
Mark

This is a known bug which we've already fixed in development versions. The fix will be present in the next release of xi, which should happen within the next couple weeks! We'll have a preview available by the end of this week or early next week.
If you need it working faster than that we could email you a patch with the fix, just let us know.

Re: After Installing Nagios xi 2011R1.7, I am unable to sele
Good morning,
Thank you for your quick response -- I thought I saw something in the Forum when searched Topics regarding browsers/and the Nagios xi 2011R1.7 release. I think the work around is sufficient for now.
As a follow-up, in the future release/patch would it be possible to change the "Network Switch / Router" Monitoring Wizard script, /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/configwizards/switch/switch.inc.php to strip out special characters that Nagios xi does not like in the Port Description field such as the arrow symbols?
Thank you,

That doesn't sound like too much to ask, I will look into that.

I have a similar issue:
I was unable to De-Select the checked boxes of auto-discovered services in auto-discovered list after running Auto-Discovery.
Is it due to the same issue?
If yes, can you point me to the work-around (I am having a hard time finding it), or is there a way to get a development patch?
BTW, I am running on
Nagiosxi 1.7 packaged for VMware Linux Guest Cent OS 6.0
on Windows 7 Host OS

Re: After Installing Nagios xi 2011R1.7, I am unable to sele
I am not sure if these two issues are related. The bug described in this thread is caused by a second (empty) footer that is being generated in the main content page of xi hence some of the buttons on the bottom of the page become "unclickable". You can try a "workaround" - right-click on the page and go to: "This frame"->"Open Frame in New Window". Now, you should be able to click on the buttons. If this is not working for you, most probably you have a different problem. Please, let us know.
