Hi,

I'm using a fresh run of the Nagios xi VMware Appliance ( http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... vmware.zip
- 32bit CentOs )

When I go to start the web configuration and click on "Access Nagios xi", I get prompted for login credentials rather than the intial configuration setup as per the tutorial video.

Any attempt to login using nagiosadmin/nagiosxi or nagiosadmin/welcome results in "NSP: Sorry Dave, I can't let you do that" (I have cleared my browser cache, and have tried this from different machines with different browser versions).

Any attempt to retrieve password information (for admin, root, nagiosadmin etc) results in "NSP: Sorry Dave, I can't let you do that".

Root access to the box and console works as expected (root/nagiosxi)

Its as if the VMware appliance was built after someone already configured the xi Gui using a different username/password ?

Any ideas?

Try checking the time settings on the xi VM. You can do this with: Then try logging in with those combinations again.

Yeah, that's possible. We'll have to look into it and possibly rebuild the VM.

Thanks - it was indeed server/client mismatch.

Interestingly, I've noticed its only the time of the day, and not the relative across timezones which needed to be changed - so 19:19:00 CDT on the Server worked with 19:19:00 GMT on the client!

But I've got access to the web interface now and can start my evaluation,

I have identical issue, using ntpdate had no affect.

turns out, using the reset_nagiosadmin_password.php solved the problem.
