Hello all,
This morning I found something that looks like a bug.
Last night we lost connection with one of our Xi Servers (managed by Fusion). The vpn connection to that site hasn't been restored yet.
The Fusion Tactical Summary and Virtualization health graphs (3) simply do not list the lost server.
Note: We have an Internal Xi server which only monitors backupjobs and such.
Here everything is reported as expected. graphs show the exact point when the connection was lost.
Anyone experienced this?

Re: fusion graphs do not show a lost xi server
Hmm, so once the connection was lost, graphs and other data that is stored on the fusion system stay there, but do not update, and TAC and other dynamically updated pages do not show anything from that server as it is down according to fusion. If you look at the page to configure your xi servers, does it show as disconnected or down there? I would agree that TAC and such should probably have a message that states a whole xi system cannot be contacted, or at least something of that nature.

Re: fusion graphs do not show a lost xi server
Well..not quite: the graphs disappeared altogether. The 'lost' server simply wasn't there anymore..
Only the Tactical Overview listed it as down, proving it to be a managed server.
But other than that this server might as well be non-existent as far as Fusion goes.
Meanwhile the connection has been restored and it's happily producing graphs again.
Can you point me to some investigation/troubleshooting tips?

Re: fusion graphs do not show a lost xi server
I tested this in Nagios Fusion 2012R1.7. I brought one of the fused servers down, and it indeed disappeared from the "Tactical Summary", "Visualizations" health graphs, and "Operations Center".
I am not sure if the server *should* be shown in "Visualizations" health graphs (in case it is down)... however, it makes sense to be shown in "Tactical Summary" and "Operations Center"... It should probably be displaying the same message as in the "Tactical Overview":
A timeout occurred while attempting to contact the server.
I am going to file an internal feature request.
