Our customer wants both Nagios xi and Nagios Log Server on the same server - we have installed Nagios xi and that seems to work ok, we have just installed the log server on the same machine. Disappointing that the log server installation doesnt seem aware of Nagios xi and tries to install applications such as the firewall (allowing certain ports from anywhere?? - yikes) over the top of it.

Anyway, commented ntpdate and firewall parts of installation out to achieve a successful install - now we are stuck with the index.php of nagioslogserver seems to be adding '/install' to the end of the nagioslogserver url and wrecking it - short of debugging the install.php file - can you point out why please?

We do not recommend installing the two of them on top of each other. Our recommendation, and supported install is to have them on their own isolated machine. There are a lot of different components at play in each of them, and that's why you saw issues installing.

Can you deploy a Hypervisor on the physical machine, and deploy VM's from there? That is really the only alternative I have to offer.

Thanks for the prompt reply - that is dissapointing - it means that we'll have to try and sell another hosted server to the customer.

OK well I've downloaded and installed the VMware instance and running that tells me that the /install is there to run through the final installation steps which we arent seeing - I guess due to an overlap of the two products.

Very likely - the two product may interfere with one another in unexpected ways - we do not test for the installation of several products on the same server.
