Questions about using Nagios xi for SLA reporting

Post by Mt6uo »

We are a small hosting provider that's currently looking into using Nagios for generating SLA reports. We want to be able to schedule a report that shows us the uptime for various customer services. Since Nagios has quite a lot of information about the availability of services, we'd like to use Nagios to generate these reports.

When we generate reports today, information like warning states skews the report (doesn't look good altough the service has been working correctly). Is it possible to remove this information from the report?
Also, is it possible to generate the report on different periods of the day? We have customers where we only guarantee uptime during certain hours of the day. Is it possible to schedule the report and email it automatically on set time intervals?

for these requirement you may want to look into the Availability report under the Legacy reports. there are some added items to filter out some of the data.

Scott, you must be real busy at the conference, you didn't mention the upcoming 2012 version that has the emailed and scheduled reports that he asked about. I know Mike loves mentioning 2012 to me every chance he gets, LOL.

I want these features as well and am patiently waiting on Nagiosxi 2012R1.0 to be released. Check out the story about it on the labs.nagios.com site and look at the new features coming.

Thanks for chiming in. Yes the conference has been crazy busy, but a lot of fun...

All right. Great. :) I hope Legacy reports are included in the schedule and email features! Today you can't even export them to PDF, which is a bummer. ;)
