host performance and ping graphs

Post by ltodd2 »

Im currenlty trying nagiosxi vm image and its version 2012R1.3
In the performance graphs for a host is shows host performance and ping graph, can someone explain what the difference is as it looks like its a ping of the host but both graphs have different values. I have got a screen grab but it wont let me attach it to this message. Also can the graphs or ping, bandwidth etc be set to run a 1 min intervals and the graphs show the details down to 1 min?

Thanks

Actually for most hosts the "host" check is also a ping check.

The reason they are different is that they were run at different times. The checks are spaced out over time and each check will stand on it's own and is performed individually.

Even if they were run at almost the exact same time they would never be identical as the quantity of the link will be different for every ping
