Re: Nagios xi problems

Just to follow up on this topic, the primary issue for this problem was that somehow the nagios core package was installed with yum over the existing source install of Nagios core. This created a conflict with some key file locations, but the main issue was that the nagios init script was fighting the source install of Nagios. The yum install of Nagios was removed, and the source installation was reinstalled. The mail issue is a result of sendmail being removed, and postfix installed instead. We'll do some more digging on how to configure that change...

I talked with my co-worker and he mentioned that the postfix he installed was sendmail compatible and even came with a sendmail binary. Also he made it working again but i am still not able to send emails.

As you shown me in the remote session i enabled the enable notifications to see if that solved the problem but as soon as i hit the update button i got the following error:

Code: Select all

I just tested this in a fresh VM, and I'm able to reproduce the same error, so this part is a confirmed bug. I'm going to do some more digging on this, but I filed a bug report to our tracker here, and we'll post updates to our tracker as we find out more.

Thanks for the update. We got the bug fixed in SVN for the next release. I think we're going to try for a 1.8 development snapshot either later this week or early next week.

Also i noticed that NSCA is not working at all and i dont see a way of manually starting it. I tried following the pdf for it but also that gave no response. For some reason i think there is more here then shows.

Those PHP notices are just a minor coding issue, but there's nothing there that will break anything.

This is a completely separate issue. Can you start a new thread for this and give some more detail as to what you've tried, which pdf you followed, and where things seem to be breaking?

I made a new one for NRDP because that will be the main protocol. I just wanted to use NSCA for a couple days untill i got NRDP working.
