If you don't want to attach ot to the forum you can either send it as a PM, or email it to xisupport@nagios.com

Solution sent via PM.

Note for others experiencing this problem, in the /etc/httpd/nagiosxi.conf
if the following lines are uncommented you would have the same problem

#   AuthName "Nagios xi"
#   AuthType Basic
#   AuthUserFile /usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/htpasswd.users
#   Require valid-user
